Lauren Brinkman is a documentary film editor based in Los Angeles. Her most recent film is “The Last Dive,” a feature documentary directed by Cody Sheehy and produced by Random Good and Diamond Docs, which follows a veteran and former Hell’s Angels associate on a mission to find his long-lost friend, Willy the Manta Ray. “The Last Dive” premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2025, in coordination with World Ocean Day and social action campaigns promoting ocean conservation and “blue therapy” for veterans.

She is also known for editing “Icarus: The Aftermath”, a follow-up to Bryan Fogel’s Netflix film “Icarus,” which won Best Documentary at the 90th Academy Awards in 2018. “Icarus: The Aftermath” premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in 2022 to rave audience and critical reviews. She also edits documentary television, including an investigative series called “Keep This Between Us” in 2022 and two upcoming HBO projects produced by A24.

Lauren began as an additional editor on the BAFTA and ACE nominated Sundance film, “The Dissident”, about the late journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and by editing the narrative short film “School Night” which premiered at the Austin Film Festival in 2021. In 2018, she directed, produced and DP’d a series of short, interrelated documentary profiles about Latinx women converting to Islam. Her entry into the documentary business came through development work at the Academy Award-nominated production company Lightbox, where she worked on critically acclaimed titles including “Tina” and the Emmy-winning “LA92”.

Born in Houston and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Lauren is a graduate of the Florida State Film School. She currently resides in Los Angeles, where she spends her free time cooking, gardening, and doing internet deep-dives into obscure topics of interest.
